What is a PID controller? 💡 A PID controller is an automatic system used to keep something under control. ✅ It can be the temperature of an oven, the speed of a motor, or even the water level in a tank. 🎛️ Its name comes from three functions that it works at the same time: • P (Proportional): Responds quickly if something is out of place. • I (Integral): Corrects errors that accumulate over time. • D (Derivative): Predicts where changes are going and adjusts before there is a problem. The goal of the PID is to keep things stable and working properly, no matter what changes or interruptions may occur. Why is it important? 🔊 The PID controller is key because: 1. It ensures precision: It maintains the desired conditions without deviating too much. 2. It prevents big errors: It slowly corrects problems before they get worse. 3. Automates processes: No need for someone to be manually adjusting all the time. 4. Applied in many fields: From robots and industry, to heating systems and cars. Thanks to the PID, processes are safer, more efficient and more reliable. Example of a PID Controller explained with a car. 🤔🏎️ Imagine you are driving a car and you want to maintain a constant speed of 100 km/h on a road with ups and downs. Without a controller, you would have to be constantly adjusting the accelerator to not go too slow or too fast. This is where the PID comes in, which works like an autopilot that controls the accelerator for you. 1. Proportional (P): • Situation: You are going 90 km/h, that is, 10 km/h slower than desired. • Response: The controller steps on the accelerator so that you quickly approach 100 km/h. 2. Integral (I): • Situation: You are now close to 98 km/h, but you can't quite reach 100 km/h. • Response: The controller keeps slowly adjusting the throttle until you reach exactly 100 km/h. 3. Derivative (D): • Situation: You are approaching 100 km/h very quickly and it seems like you might overshoot. • Response: The controller starts to ease off the throttle slightly to prevent you from overshooting and keep you right at 100 km/h. Final Result ✅ The PID controller combines these three actions to effortlessly maintain a constant speed, automatically adjusting to any ups and downs in the road. Conclusion 💡 A PID controller is like a smart co-pilot that makes sure you stay on the right track without you having to worry about making manual adjustments all the time. Earthquake and aftershocks in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile Since last night, July 18, a series of earthquakes have been recorded in the vicinity of San Pedro de Atacama, the ALMA Observatory and the Licancabur Volcano. It is a pleasure to share this news with you: Junta de Castilla y León has announced, through the Official Gazette, the granting of aid for six #international #development #microprojects, for a total amount of 248,300 euros, which will benefit four companies and two municipalities in the region. These initiatives, promoted within the framework of the IV Master Plan for Development Cooperation 2023-2026, will be developed within a maximum period of 12 months and will be implemented in situ by NGOs. Together with important companies such as: Ibersnack, Asercomex Logistics, and Autovía de Arlanzón, INERTIM RESEARCH, S.L. will collaborate with NGOs such as the Red Cross and Salesian Missions in health and education projects in Guatemala, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo and El Salvador. In addition, the city councils of Burgos and Ponferrada, together with NGOs, will undertake improvements in the drinking water infrastructure in El Salvador and the solar electrification of schools. This initiative, part of the Castilla y León Solidaria strategy, aims to reinforce the socially responsible image of the participating companies and municipalities and improve the quality of life of more than 650,000 people. The Junta de Castilla y León intends to continue improving and sustaining this initiative.
